FUNCTION PRINCIPLE

Function / Working Principle

The Abrasive Cutter Machine operates on the principle of abrasive machining.

A reinforced abrasive cutting wheel is rotated at high speed by an electric motor. The specimen is securely positioned and clamped on the machine bed. The operator then brings the rotating abrasive wheel progressively into contact with the specimen using the controlled cutting mechanism.

As the abrasive wheel contacts the material, the abrasive grains remove small portions of material through high-speed abrasive cutting action, producing a separation along the desired cutting plane.

The cutting process can be represented as:

Electric Motor → High-Speed Rotation → Abrasive Wheel → Controlled Feed → Abrasive Material Removal → Sectioned Sample

The workpiece is firmly clamped to prevent unwanted movement during cutting. The protective enclosure helps contain sparks, abrasive fragments and cutting debris generated during operation.
