Description
The Davis tube or Davis tube tester is a laboratory machine designed to separate a small sample of pulverized magnetic iron ore into magnetic and non-magnetic fractions.
The Davis separation tube is positioned between poles of a powerful electromagnet at an angle of 45° (adjustable) that is agitated back and forth and rotated by a motorized system. Magnetic particles are collected inside the tube in the zone of intense magnetism and all non-magnetic minerals are washed out.

FUNCTION PRINCIPLE
Magnetic Tube is C Type electromagnet fitted with glass tube between pole ends to reciprocally move and swing.When the test materials to be separated pass through magnetic fields, the magnetic portion will be absorbed near the tube walls and the non- magnetic portion will be washed down by water in the mechanical movement and discharged.
A glass tube is set to move and swing between two poles of C type electromagnet. When materials to be separated pass through the magnetic field, the magnetic components in the materials are adsorbed the tube wall while non-magnetic components are washed away by water due to mechanical movement.
The support mounted on the base is a fixed support for C type iron core and excitation winding. Hoop is mounted at the magnetic pole of the iron core to fasten the support. The glass tube is embedded in the round ring and supported between the magnetic poles through a carriage. The motor drives the tube to swing through the reduction gear and the crank.The glass tube shall form a 0º-40º angle with the horizontal line. Movement travel of the tube is 40mm or it swings by 45º. The upper end of the tube shall be open for material feeding. The lower part of the tube shall be sharp and slender and a rubber tube with clamp shall sleeve the taper position. The clamp is used to adjust outlet water quantity. Washing water can be filled through upper part of the glass tube.
