Description

A Wet Medium Intensity Magnetic Separator (WMIMS) is a type of magnetic separator specifically designed for the wet processing of materials containing magnetic and non-magnetic fractions. It operates in a liquid medium to efficiently separate ferromagnetic or paramagnetic materials from non-magnetic substances. WMIMS is widely used in industries where the beneficiation of low-grade ores or mineral slurries is required.

Key Features

  • High Magnetic Intensity: Equipped with strong magnetic fields to capture even weakly magnetic particles.
  • Wet Processing: Operates in slurry or liquid mediums, ensuring efficient separation and reduced dust generation.
  • Adjustable Magnetic Strength: Allows fine-tuning for specific material requirements.
  • Robust Design: Built to handle abrasive and corrosive materials for long service life.
  • Energy Efficiency: Low power consumption due to advanced magnetic technology.
  • Automatic Operation: Includes features like automatic cleaning and discharge of magnetic particles.
  • Versatile Design: Can be configured for various materials and applications.

Applications

  • Mineral Processing:
    • Beneficiation of iron ores and other magnetic minerals.
    • Removal of magnetic impurities from non-metallic minerals like silica, feldspar, and kaolin.
  • Coal Washing: Separation of magnetic contaminants in coal preparation plants.
  • Metallurgical Industries: Recovery of valuable magnetic fractions from slags or waste materials.
  • Chemical and Ceramic Industries: Purification of raw materials for better product quality.
  • Environmental Applications: Treatment of industrial wastewater to remove magnetic impurities.

FUNCTION PRINCIPLE

The working principle of a Wet Medium Intensity Magnetic Separator (WMIMS) is based on the magnetic properties of materials. A slurry containing a mixture of magnetic and non-magnetic particles is fed into the separator, where a high-intensity magnetic field is generated by permanent magnets or electromagnets. Magnetic particles are attracted to and captured on a rotating drum, matrix, or magnetic surface, while non-magnetic particles are carried away with the slurry. The captured magnetic particles are released as the drum or matrix moves out of the magnetic field zone, and both fractions are discharged into separate outlets, ensuring efficient and continuous separation.
